As a painter, I have been influenced by my thirty five year career as a mental health professional and psychiatric nurse. This career explains some of my interest in dreaming, symbols and emotions in paintings. Singing and listening to music is another strong interest. I am drawn to harmony, texture, rhythm and emotion in music and in visual art.
I have always loved making art and in 1993 completed a bachelor of arts degree in drawing and painting at Elmhurst College. Five years later I completed my bachelor of fine arts degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
